Thinking of You

This card was made quickly tonight after my work softball scrimmage for a coworker who has to put her dog to sleep this week.

I used a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 white cardstock base

I lined it with some purple shimmer cardstock I got from an estate sale

I tried to contrast the deep purple with brown and pink polka dot card stock I picked up on sale at Michael's

I had some paw print flower ribbon I added vertically, and blue and white polka dot ribbon horizontally.  (I love Michael's $1 ribbon bins!)

I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Eight Die with my Cuttlebug to cut and then emboss a name plate for my sentiment.

Cupcake Card

So I made this cupcake card to complement a cupcake themed birthday celebration we had at work recently.  My hubby-to-be made my day when he saw this card sitting on the counter and he told me that it looked like something you could buy in the store!  Heavy glitter cardstock definitely helps make homemade cards look classy and expensive.  The cupcake image is from the Silhouette Store.  I started this card around 11pm after getting home from a busy work day and softball game and definitely didn't realize how many small pieces there were until I was already committed.  If you have the patience to cut the sprinkles and accent for the cherry and adhere them, this card can look uh-mazing.  If you are in more of a hurry, I think I would go for this cupcake card kit instead.

I used my Xyron Sticker Creator to help adhere the cherry and used my Tombow glue for the glitter cardstock (I used DCWV cardstock matstack for the variety and affordability since it comes in 4.5" x 6.5" sheets).  Tombow is my go-to adhesive currently.

I finished this off with a 3-D bow on the back of the card but I forgot to take a photo before delivering my card.  This bow has been a huge hit lately and is now a staple in my card making.

This envelope is my current go-to.  I love the perforated edges for easy folding and card recipients always feel extra special with a homemade envelope.  I used to make my own each time I made a card, but I am kind of in an envelope funk and this has kicked me out of it.
